Reflecting on Mathematics Education Reform in the Chinese Mainland — From a Pedagogical Perspective

摘要

中國新一輪數學課程改革的重要特點,是對於情境設置、自主探索、合作學習、動手實踐等教學方法的積極提倡,但上述方面就現實而言也可明顯看到形式主義的盛行。通過聚焦實踐中所出現的諸多問題,本文提供了關於教學方法改革的一個理論分析,認為不應將「新、舊」看成區分教學方法「好、壞」的主要標準,並應明確提倡教學方法的多樣化,特別是應清楚地認識各種方法的優點與局限性。

Abstract

Some of the most important features of the new round of mathematics education reform in China include the promotion of new teaching methods such as the use of situational settings, active exploration, collaborative learning and learning through practice. Yet in reality, it is obvious that the above are merely observed as formality. Focusing on the problems emerging through practice, this paper offers a theoretical analysis of pedagogical reform, which aims not to distinguish "good" and "bad" teaching based on the criteria of "new" and "old". A variety of teaching methods should be encouraged, and their merits and demerits should be studied thoroughly.
