An Algorithmic Implementation of Rasch Approach to Item Analysis with Graphical Interpretation

One important element in designing experimental tests is the selection of appropriate and adequate items. One way to calibrate items in a simple and elegant manner is to adopt the Rasch model. In our research project on modelling components of reading, the Rasch model is implemented as a sample-free item analysis procedure on the microcomputer. In this paper, the algorithmic implementation of the procedure is reported. In addition, a graphical approach to item analysis based on the Rasch model is presented.
